Anah takes the lead in Driving Miss Daisy!

We're over the moon for our Anah Ruddin who will be appearing in the titular role in Driving Miss Daisy for the Frinton Summer Theatre season!

Alfred Uhry's classic play is set in Georgia and follows the touching and amusing relationship between Miss Daisy and her driver Hoke. 

The performances run from 27th June to 14th July Tuesdays to Saturday at 7.30pm (with some matinees at 3.30pm). 

This will take place at the renowned The McGrigor Hall, Frinton-On-Sea, the UK's oldest repertory theatre.

Three Alpha Actors at Brighton Fringe!

Three of our actors, Cameron Chalmers, Jessica Flood and Nic Lamont have just finished successful productions at the Brighton Fringe. Here's a round up of how they got on:

Clean Mean Eating Machine (Worst Absurd)

Cameron is part of Worst Absurd who brought this physical comedy about healthy eating to The Warren. 

Here's the team taking to the streets for promotion and Cameron taking the lead on the Matcha latte rap!

Anthony and Cleopatra (Unmasked Theatre)

Jess took on Cleopatra in Shakespeare's historical epic, in this version, as 60's cabaret star Christine Keeler.

The performance took place at the Rialto Theatre and received a 'Highly Recommended  Show' accolade by Fringe Review. You can read more here.

Slay (The Twins Macabre)

Nic brought her dark comedy-cabaret The Twins Macabre to the renowned Spiegeltent. 

In it Nic plays one half of a pair of sinister siblings who, through a series of grisly murders, have shot to fame and celebrity. The show features dark sketches, projections, audience interaction and songs.

David is chilling in new play about Eleanor Marx

A new play about Karl Marx's youngest daughter and inspirational figure Eleanor Marx has been running close to her home in Sydenham and Alpha's David Sayers plays her husband Edward Aveling. The play looks at the final tragic months of Eleanor's life and in particular focuses on the brittle relationship between Eleanor and Edward.

The play by Lucy Kaufman has been receiving great reviews and audiences in it's 4-week run and David has been described as 'chilling' in his portrayal of Edward. Tickets are available for the final week here.

Patsy in Carol Smiley Scottish Government video!

Alpha's Patsy Blower stars alongside Carol Smiley in a Scottish Government CPR initiative film. The piece instructs viewers how to give CPR in an emergency, using the rhythm of The Proclaimers of course! 

The film has had some fantastic press coverage and has received over 5,000 views on Facebook!

Abi in BBC's Doctors!

We're thrilled to announce that Alpha's Abi McLoughlin has been working on BBC's Doctors! 

We can't tell you much about she's doing as it's all hush-hush until airing, but we can tell you Abi is a semi-regular character that appears in four episodes. 

Congratulations Abi - we can't wait to watch you on our screens! 

Julie's Historical Documentary Nominated for a BAFTA!

Congratulations to Alpha's Julie Neubert who's historical documentary 'Elizabeth I's Secret Agents' has been nominated for a BAFTA! 

The series which aired on BBC2 has been nominated in the Specialist Factual category, more information can be found here. 

Julie played Queen Elizabeth I in the production which investigates the world's first secret service run by her spymasters Robert and William Cecil. 

We're all crossing our fingers for the BAFTA Awards on Sunday 22nd April! 

Jess plays Cleopatra at the Rialto Theatre

We're pleased to announce that Alpha's Jess Flood will be appearing in Shakespeare's Anthony and Cleopatra as part of Brighton Fringe Festival. 

The production by company Unmasked Theatre is set in the 1960s and inspired by the scandalous Profumo Affair. Jess plays Cleopatra in the style of model and cabaret star Christine Keeler.  

Anthony and Cleopatra will be at the Rialto Theatre on the following dates:

Adam in thriller short film to be shown at the London Independent Film Festival

Congratulations to Alpha's Adam Seigel who stars in Spiral, as it has just been announced that the short film is an official selection for this year's London Independent Film Festival. 

The details about Spiral remain secret until it's official premiere at the festival, but we can tell you that it is an intense thriller, and features innovative one-take shots. 

The Festival runs from April 13th-23rd and is held at the Genesis Cinema in Whitechapel. We can't wait to see Adam in action!

Julie in Award-Winning BBC Documentary

Congratulations to Julie Neubert who's historical documentary 'Elizabeth I's Secret Agents' has won an award!

At last night's Royal Television Society's ceremony, the program won an award in the History category. 

Julie played Queen Elizabeth I in the series which aired on BBC2 in November 2017. It investigates the secret network behind the Queen's 40-year reign and the world's first secret service run by her spymasters Robert and William Cecil. 

Nic in dark comedy at VAULT Festival

Nic Lamont will be appearing in her dark comedy duo The Twins Macabre with their new show Slay at the VAULT Festival. 

In Slay, the sinister ten-year-olds siblings have been found guilty of hundreds of unimaginable murders… yet instead of being locked up, they have skyrocketted to an insane level of fame and celebrity! The duo bring their creepiness to the world of social media, reality TV and tiny handbag dogs. 
The Twins have previously featured on BBC3 and BBC R4, and been described by the Telegraph as ‘Delightfully freaky.’ 

The Twins Macabre: Slay will be at VAULT Festival on 9th and 10th March. Tickets can be found here.
