Rachel Watkinson
Tall and beautiful with strong cheekbones, Rachel Watkinson has a classical look about her, ideal for period theatre as well as modern day television. Born and raised on a farm in Yorkshire, Rachel chose theatre instead of mucking out. She initially studied Film and Drama at Reading University before training as an actor at Arts Ed in London. After graduating, Rachel toured the country for Shakespeare In Schools playing two of the Bard's most famous female leads; Beatrice in 'Much Ado About Nothing' and Miranda in 'The Tempest.' A series of short films followed as well as a very funny Greenpeace viral entitled 'You Are My Sunshine.' She played historian Ella Evans in 'Horrible Histories' at the Nottingham Theatre Royal as well as fiery publicist Rebecca Danvers in 'Cannon Fodder' at the King's Head as part of the World At One Season 'Sellebrity.'
Rachel does regular voice work for Renault TV and is also an experienced presenter, having done a series of primary school numeracy DVDs for 3R Education as well as corporate films for Which Venture and The Gate Films.
Rachel has recently performed in 'You Wouldn't Know Him, He Lives In Texas' at the Roundhouse, a ground breaking new play in which she's communicating with her Texan lover via a Skype connection. The actor playing her boyfriend was performing simultaneously for an American audience in Austin, Texas.
